The AJC Newsletter

September 5, 2003September Updates and Information
A Quick Hello

Hi Japanese Chin Friends! We want to first thank you all for signing up for our NEW newletter and mailing list. We had over 140 names on our mailing list and our regular email could no longer handle the capacity so we decided we needed to use a service to send out our updates. We've been very busy working on our website as you may have noticed. We have added all kinds of new things over the past month mostly for fun and some for education. At the suggestion from some of our friends, we decided to send out a monthly newsletter with tips and information on the Japanese Chin breed so that we can share some new information and items we've come across that we think you might be interested in. We hope that you will find this newsletter informative and we would appreciate any suggestions for topics you have and as always you r comments. Our goal is to be a complete resource for those interested in the Japanese Chin breed. Best wishes from all of us at AJC.

Spot and Jack

You may have received our previous email or noticed on our website that our friends Spot and Jack are looking for new homes. We have had several inquiries but no confirmed new parents as of yet if anyone is still interested in them. You can find their picture on our Puppies Page along with a little information about them. Along with our own puppies, we often will help out friends to locate new families for their puppies and new puppies for families. We have made so many friends and are always happy to help bring Chins and their friends together! If you ever know a Chin who needs a home please contact us, we are happy to help find new homes.

What's New

Some of the new features we have added to our website recently are new links to stories and reports on puppy mills and animal abuse. Please see our LINKS PAGE for more information.

We've also added a links page for Japanese Chin related web pages so if you have a homepage or favorite website that you would like to share, please add it to our NEW JAPANESE CHIN FAVORITE LINKS PAGE, a link is located at the bottom of our home page.

You can now create your own E-Cards FREE right on our website to send to your friends and family using our photo's and greeting cards. We currently have 10 cards to choose from and we plan to add 10 more soon. This service is totally free and is the only Japanese Chin E-Card service on the web. Please click here to send a free E-Card! We are also happy to take card submissions if you would like to add your own photo's to our service! Just send us an email for more information.

We have also added a feature for our Puppy Owners and those interested to purchase our photo's in any printed size desired through DOT PHOTO. Please see the link on the PUPPIES PAGE for photo's available and information.

2004 Japanese Chin Calendar - The deadline has ended for photo submissions for next years calendar. Congradulations to all submission winners! We are very happy to have your Chin as Chin of the Month! We have some wonderful photo's this year that have never been seen before and we believe this to be the best calendar yet!! We will post a sneak preview of the calendar in a few weeks after we have received the proof from the printer. Due to cost of producing a professional high-quality calendar, the cost of the calendar will increase a few dollars after December 1st so don't forget to pre-order your calendar at the discounted price! See our GIFTS PAGE for more information.

Have some pet related items you want to sell? We recently added a classifieds section where you can buy and sell pet related items for FREE! See our LINKS PAGE to submit your ad.

As you may have learned in our previous email, we are expecting to have puppies available around the holidays. Due to the overwhelming response we have gotten this year, we hope to have quite a few litters next year since we have added some new members to our family. We are also expecting to expand our family to North Texas next year and have puppies available from there as well. As soon as we have any news on litters expected we will let you all know. Thanks to everyone for the wonderful comments and patience in waiting for our special little puppies!!
Health Corner
Did you know you know that most properly nourished dogs with well-balanced immune systems are not bothered by the bites of fleas? In many cases switching from kibble to a home-cooked diet will bring a world of positive change to dogs who suffer from flea allergies. Weeding out the allergens from a poor diet can bring quick positive results. Fabulous herbs are also available such as Nettle that will reduce your pets allergies. Would you like to know more? Let us know and we will add this topic to our NEW Japanese Chin Forum and Advice Column. Where you can ask questions and get advice from us and other Japanese Chin owners. Give your advice or get tips from others, a link to the FORUM is located on the bottom of our HOME PAGE

This Month's Tip
Are you prepared for your pets safety in the event of a natural disaster or emergency? Accidents happen when you least expect them and we should all think ahead when it comes to our pets safety as well as our own. Things you can do that might save your pets life are; have at least two pet emergency kits (one in the car and one in the home) stock these items with things appropriate to canine first aid or buy a special kit at PetFirstAidKits.Com You should also have a good book on pet first aid handy at all times. Check out our BOOKS PAGE for related books and more.
